About
The 15th Station was launched on the Feast of the Assumption (August 15) 2007, as that is the feast day of New Zealand. We named the podcast after the Stations of the Cross. The last station (the 14th) ends with Christ's body being laid in the tomb. Of course, we all know that the next station would be Christ's rising from the dead - which our Church is the product of. So, we named this media project after that glorious moment when Christ conquered death and sin and gave us all new life.
The network was launched as a collaborative project sponsored by NZ Catholic, the national Catholic newspaper, as part of its "new media" strategy. The network now runs independently of the paper, and continues to grow by adding new podcasts to the stable.
Over time, our plan is to extend the number of podcasts available through this "station" to reach other audiences and cover off other Catholic topics.
Network
We've also expanded the 15th Station network to include two new podcasts. Familia is a monthly podcast from Family Life International in New Zealand. The podcast covers off all manner of topics relating to the Church's teaching on pro-life and family matters. Familia is published on the 1st of every month. Catechiwi is our very own catechesis podcast. Published on the 8th of every month, the podcase features interviews with theologians and discussion of the topics that matter.
We hope you enjoy what we have to offer. Thanks for tuning in to the 15th Station.
